Awareness for Kakuma

Kakuma is a refugee camp in Kenya, Africa. It was created to house refugees, especially children, who escaped from the civil war in South Sudan. However, the conditions in this camp are terrible. Some of these children were ripped from their parents when they were only 6 years old, and after struggling to survive in a terrible war, are now imprisoned in this camp, with no hope of a better future. They are handed out tiny amounts of rations, but they are always in a short supply. Even this little food that they have is often stolen from them by the older boys in the camp. These children, even down to the age of 6, look forward to Tuesday, because that is the day trash is dumped near the camp. They will scavenge in the heap for broken bits of banana, or anything else in the slightest way edible.

I want to raise awareness for this cause, and my goal is to give at least ten, out of the thousands of children that are still stuck there, a hope. Whether this be a new family, or even coming to America, I wish that they can have a hope in Jesus Christ, and that they can have a chance to be free from the harsh conditions of Kakuma.
