The Trip Saga, Day 2

We are pausing in the drive to stop at Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. We cannot wait to see it, as we have heard that his architecture was superb. We headed to the visitors center leisurely, as we still had an hours wiggle room for our tour. Then, Mom glanced at her phone to take a picture, and saw that the time was twelve three! We had forgotten the Virginia time change and were and hour behind! However, we made it in time. Monticello, (a name meaning “Little Mountain”), is really gorgeous, and quite a sight to see! The tour was very intriguing, and we got to see many interesting artifacts of Jefferson’s. For example, we saw his revolving bookstand, dumbwaiter, and small ivory notebook that he used to record the temperature. We had lots of fun trying out the interactive activities in the Discovery Room. Monticello was amazing! But now we are exited to see our great-uncle Bob, great-aunt Sue, and our second cousins Anna and Amanda down at Lake Anna. I love vacations!
